thermaltake fan grille
Thermaltake are very well known for the range of coolers, but they also do a nice range of accessories. Today I take a look at a great little invention - the fan grille, which are designed to save your fingers from getting chopped up in case fan blades...

product specifications:

-
P/N: A1457
- Dimension: 80mm x 80mm
- Colour: Red Copper

first look:

The fan grilles arrived in retail packaging, with a see through front, that show off both of designs of the grille. The first thing that strikes you (well almost at the same time as the second thing) is the colour, a nice, reflective copper colour. Secondly is the unique design of the grille themselves.

Fan grilles used to be 'boring' silver things, with no real design to them. Thermaltake have created two visually stunning designs that both feature the Thermaltake 'Tt' symbol within their design:

Also included in the package is a set of eight screws and nuts, that allow you to easily attach and secure the grills wherever you please (the grills being 80mm gives you a whole host of possible installation locations). The screws are also not your 'standard' silver, so that they match the grille colour.

mt

The back of the packaging gives an example of where you could install the grilles. They suggest attachment to a Thermaltake Volcano 7 although, as already mentioned, being 80mm means you can attach them to virtually any cooler or case fan etc...

installation:

I chose to attach both the fan grills to an Antec Tri-Colour LED Fan to see how well the designs illuminate - I was not disappointed:

conclusion:

These fan grilles just look fantastic and will spice up any view thorough a window. Being a 'standard' size, you can attach it to almost any CPU cooler or case fan you own. The grilles are also very well constructed and tough (they WILL bend with too much pressure if you attempt to check this!)
