Under The Hood

The back cover of the phone can be removed to reveal the BLD-3 battery compartment. Pressing down the silver button and sliding the cover off is a fairly easy process. The cover is a tight fit and will not slide off by itself. Attached on the back of the cover are two black pads, these pads keep the battery firmly held in place when the cover is in place.

Underneath the battery is where the SIM card is installed. The 6220 uses the common 'SIMLock®' holder to hold the SIM securely in place. A label is present that details important information about the handset, such as the model number, IMEI etc...

Conclusion

The Nokia 6220 Tri-Band Mobile Phone is a smart looking handset that has many useful features for the business class user.

Currently, there is a lack of network support for the EDGE protocol and Presence in most regions, as networks have been slow on the take-up of these new technologies. This means that many 6220 owner's may not be fully able to take advantage of these features at this time.

When the local network does implement support for these new technologies, 6220 owner's will be the first to be able to take advantage of them. User's will not have too long to wait either, as all major GSM manufacturers have publicly confirmed that they will employ EDGE technology.

Overall, the 6220 is a pleasing handset, with many useful features that will address the needs for the majority of users. Nokia have resisted the temptation to design the 6220 as overly 'fashionable' and have created a smart, sensible and usable handset.
