The Cosmo Radio Frequency Wireless Controller (for PS/PS2™) is a clever piece of kit. It is similar to the original Playstation controllers, both in size and function - however it has a couple of differences. The major difference is that the controller has no wires! It works on Radio Frequency technology. Secondly we are given two extra function buttons 'TURBO' and 'SLOW'... What is the benefit of having a wireless controller? Well, freedom of course. Freedom to move a comfortable distance from the sofa, freedom to thrash about as you pull of a mega-combo move in a fighting game, freedom to shake your controller in anger at the Television, as you are killed by a unforeseen 'bad guy' etc... all without the controller wire snagging and pulling you back. This controller also has the added benefit of Radio Frequency technology - this means there is no 'line of sight' i.e. the controller does not need to be placed or pointing at any certain place on the console in order to work (this would be needed with Infrared Technology, like your Television Remote Control) - this means if someone walks in front of the Television, it will still work or if you feel the need - you can play though the wall with no interference!
The Receiver Unit: Also on the left side of the Receiver Unit, is the channel selection jumper switches. This allows you to choose a channel for the controller to work on. Of course the setting here must be the same as the channel setting on the controller itself, so that they will 'work' together. This is useful if you purchase more than one Cosmo Controller, you can set them up to be married to the correct Receiver Unit.
To charge using the Desktop Charger, the AC adaptor is plugged into the back of the unit, and then the controller is simply placed onto the Desktop Charger - it acts as a cradle and charges the unit. The 'CHARGE' LED will light up orange indicating the battery is being charged and turn green once a full charge is complete. |
