BlueTake BT400 GII Bluetooth Headset

BlueTake BT400 GII Bluetooth Headset

What is Bluetooth?

Bluetooth is a standard that has been developed by a group of electronics manufacturers. It is based on a low-cost, short-range radio link, Bluetooth can connect many types of digital devices such as computers and mobile phones, without a single cable in sight - giving you more freedom to roam about freely.

As Bluetooth utilizes a radio-based link, it does not require a line-of-sight connection in order to communicate with devices... something needed when using an Infra-red connection (IrDA). You could be using your laptop in one room and send a document to print, to the printer in another room some distance away.

To establish a connection, two Bluetooth-equipped devices simply have to come within a 10 meter range of each other.

Using the BT400 GII, the user is able to make or receive phone calls without ever handling their mobile phone, which can be conveniently left in a bag or jacket pocket.

The BT400 GII Headset can be used with any mobile phone which supports the Bluetooth Headset profile.

The BT400 GII Headset is small and lightweight device, that consists of two moving parts and a main body piece that contains all the electronics inside it and user control buttons on the top.

BT400 GII Headset - User Controls and Microphone | Microphone can be folded closed...

On the top of the headset are three buttons. A 'Volume Up' and 'Volume Down' set of buttons (which have a plus and minus symbol on them to indicate function) and a main larger button that is used for powering the headset on and off, ending and starting calls and for pairing the device with a Bluetooth enabled mobile phone.

Volume Controls...

This main button is also backlight with an LED. It will flash blue when the power is on, remain a constant red colour when charging (until charging is complete) and flash between blue and red when the headset has been put into pairing mode. Audio tones are also emitted when pressing this button to confirm the mode entered:

Turn On Two high tones
Turn Off Two low tones
Pairing Mode Two high tones
Incoming Call A ring tone at two second interval
Mute Repeated two low beeps at a three second interval
Unmute A single beep
Battery Low Repeated beeps at sixteen second interval

Towards the front of the device is a microphone which can be folded within 180°. When the headset is not in use, folding the microphone back reduces the size of the headset considerably for easy storage. Although this is a moving part, it very feels solid and even when we exerted a fair amount of force to push the microphone beyond it's designed fold direction - it did not break off nor warp in anyway.
