BlueTake BT200 Bluetooth Printer Adapter

What is Bluetooth?
Bluetooth is a standard that has been developed by a group of electronics
manufacturers. It is based on a low-cost, short-range radio link, Bluetooth can
connect many types of digital devices such as computers and mobile phones,
without a single cable in sight - giving you more freedom to roam about freely.
As Bluetooth utilizes a radio-based link, it does not require a line-of-sight
connection in order to communicate with devices... something needed when using
an Infra-red connection (IrDA). You could be using your laptop in one room and
send a document to print, to the printer in another room some distance away.
To establish a connection, two Bluetooth-equipped devices simply have to come
within a 10 meter range of each other.
BlueTake BT200 Bluetooth Printer Adapter:
Part of BlueTake's range of Bluetooth devices, this useful product is designed
to be a total parallel printer cable replacement for parallel port printers. It
does away with the need for the printer to be physically connected to a computer
(i.e. by using a parallel printer cable) and it effectively converts the printer
into a Bluetooth wireless printer.
The BT200 enables easy wireless printing from any Bluetooth enabled device such as a
desktop, a laptop, or a PDA. A great benefit of this product is the simple
installation process, which requires no re-installation of printer drivers
etc... it is merely a case of plugging the BT200 into the printer and creating a
Bluetooth virtual COM port on your desktop or similar Bluetooth enabled device.

meter range and the only wires you need be concerned about are the two power
cables (one for the printer itself and one to power the BT200).

to place the printer anywhere in the room with no parallel printer cable
restricting you or having to worry about 'line-of-sight' or placing the printer
in a certain location in relation to the Bluetooth enabled device.

Everything comes packaged in a small box. The outside of the box shows off
features and specifications of the BT200 and also displays some of the other
products in the Bluetooth series by BlueTake on the underside of the box. I
always think that packaging is an important factor, and BlueTake have done a
great job.
Inside is a plastic form that holds the BT200 Bluetooth Printer Adaptor and a
power adaptor (DC 6v) to power the BT200 (obviously there are different adaptors
depending on which country you purchase this product, so that you can connect it
to a power outlet easily).
Also included is a Quick Setup Guide, Utility CD-ROM (containing a 30-day trial
version of PrintPocketCE, Quick Setup Guide and Macromedia Flash Video Guides)
and a BlueTake Limited Warranty Card.
Included in the Package...
Bear in mind that a Bluetooth
Adaptor for your desktop or laptop is not included, it is assumed that
you already have a Bluetooth enabled device for use with the BT200. You can read

The BT200 is a compact and smart
looking product that is a nice dark blue colour with contrasting grey rubber
grips. On the top is the BlueTake logo and the Status LEDs (which are either
bright blue or pink,
depending on the status of the BT200).
A useful feature should you get into trouble, is the Reset Switch on the side of
the BT200. It can be pressed with a paperclip or any other small thin object,
similar to the 'emergency eject' you find on CD-ROM drives.
