A blue LED will now be lit inside the BT009M's plastic shell. This LED is the 'Flash Memory Status' LED and lets the user know that the function is active. The LED will flash around every three seconds. The LED flashes far more rapidly when the device is in use. |
For the Bluetooth Radio Function, the user must first install the Widcomm Bluetooth Software. This can be found on the supplied Driver CD-ROM.
Once the software has been installed, the function switch needs to be moved to the 'on' position for Bluetooth Radio and then plugged into a spare USB port.
Windows will then detect the
BT900M device as a 'CSR USB Bluetooth Device'. The New Hardware Wizard will
guide the user through installing the drivers for the device.
This process of installing and configuring the Widcomm Bluetooth Software and
the device drivers need only be done once per computer/laptop that the BT900M
will be used on.

Depending on how the system was configured, Bluetooth enabled devices will now
be able to discover and pair with the BT009M and the system it is connected to,
for access to its Bluetooth Services.

Note: Both of these process of using the BT900M are clearly described in
the Quick Start Guide and User Manual on the supplied CD-ROM.
Conclusion:
The
BlueTake BT009M Bluetooth USB 2.0 Pen Drive is a great all-in-one product,
finished in a cool blue plastic shell. It brings together two very useful and
two very mobile technologies together, making it ideal for the travelling
business or home user and their laptop.
It is also great for desktop computer's, allowing easy transfer of files to and
from other computers and connectivity of Bluetooth compatible devices, such as
Bluetooth enabled mobile phone's.
The BT900M supports the 'Human Interface Device' (HID) Profile, meaning that a
user will also be able to connect Bluetooth cordless keyboard's and mice to the
system with no
problems.
BlueTake have thought about the whole package, supplying the user with all they
need to be up and running out of the box.
The USB extension cable is very useful for those users who's USB ports are not
on the front of their computer, or are out of reach. The supplied neck-strap is
ideal for carrying the BT900M on the body, keeping it with the user all the
time.
"mySecurity 2.5 Lite" is also supplied with the package, which useful for
security conscious users allowing them to encrypt their files and data stored on
the BT900M flash memory function.
With the high transfer speed of USB 2.0, files and data can quickly be stored on
the BT009M and with three capacity sizes available, up to 512MB, there is more
than enough space for all types of personal files.
The user has the option to control the Bluetooth Radio Function to be on or off,
but it is possible to have both functions running at the same time.
Laptop user's may wish to turn of the Bluetooth Radio Function, if they are not
using it at the time to conserve the laptop battery level.
Overall the BlueTake BT009M Bluetooth USB 2.0 Pen Drive is an impressive and an
extremely useful product that is easy to setup and use daily.
