bluetake bt009m bluetooth usb 2.0 pen drive

To use the neck-strap with the BT009M, the user needs only to thread it through the purpose made hole in the unit. Once in place, the BT009M can now be carried around the neck or wrist.

mt mt
Quick Release Mechanism

To remove the BT009M from the strap, there is no need to un-thread it from the hole - as it has a quick release mechanism, which allows it to be separated from the strap without taking the strap off.

At the opposite end of the neck-strap hole, is an easily removed cover. This small cover needs to be removed in order to plug the BT009M directly into a free USB port/hub or to connect it to the supplied USB extension cable.

mt

Removable Cover for USB Connector

The cover protects the USB connector on the unit from being damaged or broken off.

Along the side of the BT009M are two small slide switches. These control the function's of the BT009M and can have two states, either 'off/disabled' or 'on/enabled'.

The first switch controls the Bluetooth function of the BT009M. By default, the BT009M arrives from the factory with the Bluetooth function turned off, simply sliding it into the 'on/enabled' position activates the Bluetooth function and disables the USB 2.0 Pen Drive Function.

mt

Next to this switch is another switch that control the USB 2.0 Pen Drive Function.

Sliding the switch under the closed lock picture means that the data on the flash memory is now 'read-only' - i.e. the data is protected from accidental deletion etc... similarly, sliding the switch under the open lock picture allows the data on the flash memory to be modified.

mt

Changing the BT009M active function...

The switch's are very small and cannot be slid into another position by hand. The user requires a small paperclip or similar to move them.

At first this seems like an inconvenience, but in reality it ensures that the selected function of the BT009M stays active and does not get accidentally changed or turned off - preventing data loss or Bluetooth downtime.

Product Usage:

Using the BT009M is very easy. If the BT009M is to be used for the USB 2.0 Pen Drive Function, it need simply be plugged into a spare USB port (or connected to one using the supplied extension cable).

The Windows operating system will automatically detect the BT009M as an 'USB Mass Storage Device', and install the necessary drivers without the need for the driver CD-ROM (under Windows 98, the user will be required to insert the driver CD-ROM).

mt

This process takes less than a minute and once complete, the BT009M is ready for storing data on as a normal hard drive. It can be accessed thru the new icon found in My Computer, where a drive letter for the unit will have been assigned.
