What is Bluetooth?

Bluetooth is a standard that has been developed by a group of electronics manufacturers. It is based on a low-cost, short-range radio link, Bluetooth can connect many types of digital devices such as computers and mobile phones, without a single cable in sight - giving you more freedom to roam about freely.

As Bluetooth utilizes a radio-based link, it does not require a line-of-sight connection in order to communicate with devices... something needed when using an Infra-red connection (IrDA). You could be using your laptop in one room and send a document to print, to the printer in another room some distance away.

To establish a connection, two Bluetooth-equipped devices simply have to come within a 10 meter range of each other.

Also included on the Driver CD-ROM is a copy of "mySecurity 2.5 Lite" - a file encryption software package, which is extremely useful for ensuring that the data on the BT009M (when using the flash memory function) is secure.

Finished in a cool blue shell, the BT009M looks very pleasant to the eye and has a small and compact form factor.

The top of the BT009M has the word 'BLUETAKE' printed in a contrasting white font. On the bottom of the BT009M is a label that identifies the size of the unit (either 128MB, 256MB or 512MB) and shows the serial number and unique MAC address.
